Биография
Будущая писательница появилась на свет 29 июня 1901 года в Острогожске Воронежской губернии в многодетной семье мастера химического завода. Всем детям прививали любовь к литературе. В 1926 году Лия Яковлевна окончила Ленинградский институт истории искусства. Однако литературный дебют девушки состоялся гораздо раньше.
