29 мая 1453 года после длительной осады Константинополь пал. 53 дня мы держали осаду турков. Я чудом успел спастись на судне, так как всех византийцев либо убивали либо продали в рабство. Мы защищали город как могли! Много раз очищали ров вокруг города, который турки засыпали. Взрывали подкопы под воротами, сожгли осадную башню, ограждали вход в гавань. Но за эти дни, не было покоя воинам ни днем, ни ночью, сутками отбивались от турков, заканчивались продукты, наши силы таяли… И все таки туркам удалось прорваться в город. Отчаянно сражался наш император в схватке, но силы были неравны.. Так и пал наш Константинополь, а с ним и Византийская империя
