Russia is the largest country in the world and is washed by three oceans and many seas. That is why there are different types of climate in various regions of the Russian Federation. Mostly there is a continental climate on the territiry of the country.
Central Russia has mild climate with quite cold winters, wet springs and autumns, warm and hot summers. In northern regions weather conditions are extremely severe. In winter the temperature may reach even fifty or sixty degrees below zero. Winters are frosty with heavy snowfalls. In the south in Krasnodarsky Region the temperature is above zero during all the year. Summers are really hot there. In some locations the climate is even subtropical.
