Yuri Gagarin became the first man in world history which flew into outer space. It took place on 12 April, 1961. First space flight attracted a big interest worldwide and Yuri Gagarin became a world celebrity. By invitation of foreign governments and social organizations, he visited about 30 countries. In March 27, 1968 Yuri Gagarin died in a plane crash. Causes of the crash are not known today.
