Привіт, Сашко! Радий тебе бачити!

Привіт! Навзаєм! Як відпочив на канікулах?

Дуже добре! Ми з батьками їздили на тиждень у Карпати. Там так чудово! Я навчився кататися на лижах!

Молодець! Не страшно було?  

Спочатку страшнувато. Схил такий довгий, хоч і не дуже крутий – для новачків. Мені допомагав молодий інструктор, і дуже швидко стало виходити! Було дуже весело. Ми майже не заходили до готельного номеру. Це були найкращі канікули в моєму житті!

Радий за тебе! Канікули взагалі не бувають поганими – можна відпочити від навчання, виспатися, зайнятися улюбленими справами. Я нарешті дочитав книгу, яку давно мріяв прочитати.  

Згоден, бо щоб вивчити уроки, треба й так багато читати, часу на читання «для себе» не вистачає. А ти провів канікули вдома?

- Так. На Різдво до нас приїздили дядько з тіткою та мій двоюрідний брат Іван, тож сумно не було. Але на наступних канікулах я б теж хотів кудись з’їздити.  

- Правильно! Так цікаво бувати в нових місцях!  

- Ще я помітив, що незважаючи на те, що на канікулах не треба вставати за будильником, я все одно прокидаюся рано, бо шкода часу на сон, коли можна робити те, що тобі подобається.

- Це правильний підхід! А то буває, звикнеш довго спати на канікулах, потім важко знову вставати рано кожного ранку.  Ще мені подобається, коли на канікули не задають багато. Можна самому розпоряджатися вільним часом і підучити предмети, які знаєш не дуже добре.  

Точно! Канікули – це здорово! Тепер можна й повчитися!

My favorite detective Sherlock Holmes

Arthur Conan Doyle is one of the most famous writers who worked in the genre of detective. Loud glory to the writer brought his collection of stories about Sherlock Holmes. There are a total of sixty. And although in the world literature there are still writers who worked in this genre, for example Edgar Allan Poe, Georges Simenon, Agatha Christie and others, but my favorite detective is Sherlock Holmes.

Sherlock Holmes is a highly educated, intelligent person with an extremely rich imagination, observability, and deep analytical abilities. "The art of drawing conclusions and analyzing, like all other forms of art, is achieved by long and hard work," Holmes says. And my favorite detective mastered this art in perfection.

In addition, he has an unmistakable intuition that helps him unravel the most complex cases, uncover the most intricate crimes that are often beyond the power to disclose to the police, for example the story "The Union of Redheads" or the story "Study in Scarlet Tones." Sherlock Holmes is a highly qualified specialist, but he not only flawlessly owns his profession, but is also well acquainted with many other related sciences: anatomy, chemistry, pharmacology, geology. He has a thorough knowledge of English laws, plays violin, an excellent swordsman and boxer. And Sherlock Holmes also attracts me with human qualities: honesty, justice, courage and resourcefulness. He will never refuse to help a person, if she is in trouble, will always give useful advice. Do not count with personal time to protect a person, reveal a dangerous crime. For his work, Sherlock Holmes does not require large fees, and sometimes free of charge helps people who need it. He gives all his knowledge and tireless labor to serving the law and justice.

I think that our modern detective could also use these human and professional qualities of my beloved literary hero.
