Depending on the climate zone, the country's flora changes. About a third of the territory is covered with forests, in the South of Alaska - coniferous forests. The rest of the country is mostly a tundra with lichens and mosses.
Each part of the country has its own vegetation:
- the Central part of the country-mixed forests (pine, oak, spruce, birch, ash and others);
- North and East coast-pine, cedar and larch forests;
- South sub – tropical nature of the vegetation (rubber plants, magnolias);
- the Western part of the country – the region of deserts and semi-deserts (shrubs, semi-deserts, Yucca, cacti, succulents).
The coast of the Gulf of Mexico covers mangrove vegetation. In California, citrus, various palm trees, Chaparral. In the Sierra Nevada giant sequoias grow.
The animal world also depends on the climate zone. Moose, bears, deer, earthen Becky live in the North; seals and walruses live in Alaska. In the Eastern forests there are foxes, wolves, skunks, grizzly bears, badgers, a large number of birds. The coast of the Gulf of Mexico is inhabited by exotic birds (Pelican, flamingos and others), alligators, snakes. In the Great plains is dominated by hoofed animals, preserved herds of Buffalo. Mountain goats, moose, pronghorn, bears, wolves live in mountainous areas. In deserts-typical for this terrain reptiles, small mammals, rodents.
