Артур Конан Дойл был великим писателем - он родился в Шотландии в семье ирландцев. Он был врачом. В 1882 году он переехал из Шотландии в Англию, чтобы начать практику. Его медицинское знание очень ему в его детективных рассказах. Конан Дойл был одним из первых, кто начал мод детективы. Сегодня мода продолжается с рассказами других писателей. Конан Дойл создал своего знаменитого персонажа Шерлока Холмса в 1885 году. Спустя годы, когда Конан Дойл написал несколько рассказов об этом детективе, Шерлок Холмс стал тем именем, которое все знали. Холмс впервые появился в книге под названием «Study in Scarlet». «Приключения Шерлока Холмса» сделали его знаменитым во всем мире.
