Suddenly he saw something in the water. It was a horrible creature - an alligator.
Tom didn't expect to meet any alligators there.
The animal was swimming closer and closer to the canoe.
Tom was at a loss for some minutes. Then he took his mobile phone and made a photo of the animal.
The alligator stopped, he was a shy animal and didn't like any modern gadgets. So feeling embarrassed he turned back and swam away. Tom's mobile phone saved his life.
