5. read the text. when we haven't got a chance to spcak face to face and it is necessary to get or send urgent information we deal with a telephone. but if the person we need is out at the moment we can leave a message on the answerphone. the message is a short summary ofthe whole conversation containing the most essential information. that is why you should be especially careful about numbers, dates, times and names. speak slowly and clearly. makc notes while you are taking messages, don't rely on your memory, and read all the important details back to the caller. don't interrupt the person you speak to, let him finish what he wants to say. speak in a polite voice. find the equivalents in the text: to have the opportunity, urgent information, it is necessary to read, to talk face to face, to deal with ..., other ways, the person we need, the most important information, a brief summary, that's why.

We all know that school is our second home. It is a fact because between the ages of about 6 and 17, we spend half of our waking hours in school. And there is another fact that there are practically no children who love absolutely everything about their school. So what would I like to change about mine?

Firstly, I would like fewer pupils in my class. I think there should be no more than 20 kids. This means happier teachers and more productive pupils. Secondly, it would be great to have computers with the Internet connection in every classroom and use these computers for every lesson. Thirdly, less homework would be good and it should be something other than reading a section in a school textbook. I hate having to read some boring stuff in the textbook after hearing all of it in class. Finally, I would like to have lockers, because my school is very large and we have to carry everything on our backs.

These ideas of mine are not impossible but I do not think they will become reality in the nearest future.

Все мы знаем, что школа — наш второй дом. Это факт, потому что в возрасте с 6 до 17 лет мы проводим в школе половину времени нашего бодрствования. И еще один факт: практически нет детей, которым нравится в их школах абсолютно всё. Что же я хотел(а) бы изменить в моей школе?

Во-первых, я хотел(а) бы, чтобы в моем классе было меньше учеников. Я думаю, что должно быть не более 20 детей. Это значит, что учителя будут счастливее, и ученики будут работать продуктивнее. Во-вторых, было бы здорово иметь компьютеры с подключением к Интернету в каждом классе и использовать эти компьютеры для каждого урока. В-третьих, было бы хорошо иметь меньше домашних заданий, и это должно быть что-то другое, а не прочитать параграф в учебнике. Я ненавижу читать скучный текст в учебнике после того, как услышал(а) всё это в классе. Наконец, я хотел(а) бы иметь шкафчики, потому что моя школа очень большая, и мы вынуждены носить всё с собой (на спине).

Эти идеи не являются чем-то невозможным, но я не думаю, что они станут реальностью в ближайшем будущем.
