Кроме FOR, в past perfect progressive используют SINCE (с какого-то момента). К примеру, He has been writing a letter since 5 o'clock - Он пишет письмо с пяти часов. Или: They have been talking since morning - Они разговаривают с самого утра.
Что сказать о собой форме Present Perfect Progressive? Она используется только на письме. Ну, редкие случаи бывают, когда используют в разговорной речи, но это редко и только в случае вопроса по типу how long have thay Ving (что-то делают)?
