Lena Stogova likes to read interesting books. She very often
goes to the library to read books there or to take out a book
to read at home.
When you go into the children's library, you first see a
large room with shelves on all the walls, and all the shelves ar
full of books. There are picture books with pictures and stories
for small boys and girls.
For older children there are novels, poems, plays, books on
history, geography and the arts. Books on history and geography
are very popular.
Lena likes books on literature very much. Russian and So-
viet writers interest her most of all. She often takes out works
by Pushkin, Lermontov, Tolstoy, Chekhov, Gorky and others.
She likes Pushkin's poems, but she reads Mayakovsky's
poems too.
There is a table in the room at which the librarian sits.
She gives out and takes back books. Many boys and girls are
standing in front of the table. They are bringing back the books
they have read and taking out the books they have chosen.
Lerra sees Kolya, a boy from her form. He is bringing back
a book about the Great October Socialist Revolution.
on the right of the big room is the reading-room, where
there are tables and chairs. Near the wall there is a stand with
newspapers and magazines. Many boys and girls are reading
books, magazines or newspapers.
On one side of the reading-room there is a stand "Lenin Is
Always with Us". In the middle of the stand there is a large
portrait of Lenin and around it there are pictures and texts
which tell the schoolchildren about his life and his work for
the October Revolution and for building Socialism in the USSR.

I really like spending my time at home, because exactly here i feel comfort and in safe. I have a lot of hobbies at home: playing comuter games, reading books, cooking and so on. But the most lovely activity at home is cooking because i can cook whatever i want. Yesterday was extremly bad wheather and when i came home i decided to make a cup of tea and everything became good. After i took a sip of tea i remembered that i have sweets but i was on a diet so i asked myself "to eat or not to eat" i decided not to eat. I have never had such a difficult choice. Well i think that home is a place where you have to relax and do whatever you want.

Every country has its own culture, traditions, holidays and, of course, cuisine. That makes each nation unique and authentic. Learning about Russian cuisine can help to understand better the nature of the country. У каждой страны своя культура, традиции, праздники и, конечно же, кухня. Being the largest country by its area, Russia has a diverse cuisine. From ancient times local people cultivated the land, fished, baked bread, gathered herbs, smoked meat, preserved fruit and vegetables, made wine and kept bee-hives. These traditions are being successfully passed from generation to generation. The best recipes have been recorded in special cook books. Some of my favourite national dishes are borsch, cabbage rolls, pancakes with jam, vinaigrette, kvass and okroshka. К некоторым из моих любимых национальных блюд относятся борщ, голубцы, блинчики с джемом, винегрет, квас и окрошка.

Borsch is a beetroot soup, which contains many other vegetables: potatoes, carrots, onions, cabbage. Every housewife has her own recipe of borsch. Борщ – это свекольный суп, в котором содержится много и других овощей: картофель, морковь, лук, капуста. У каждой хозяйки свой рецепт борща.

Cabbage rolls are very tasty. They can be stuffed with meat, rice, herbs and spices. Голубцы очень вкусные. Они могут быть с начинкой из мяса, риса, зелени и специй.

Russian pancakes are fantastic. They are flat cakes in the shape of sun served with sour cream or cottage cheese. I personally love them with jam or condensed milk. Русские блины превосходны. Vinaigrette is a traditional Russian salad made of cooked beetroot. Other vegetables in it include potatoes, carrots, onion, green peas or beans. It is one of the ingredients of cold Russian soup okroshka. However, some people make okroshka from a fermented milk drink, called kefir.
