Была семья с 13ю детьми, младшего назвали Весельчак. Как то раз в городе проводилась ярмарка и отец раздал всем детям по серебряному пенни. Другие дети думали, что же купить, нарядно оделись и ушли с отцом, а весельчак давно мечтал о скрипке, но её не купить на такие деньги. На ярмарке ему встретился оборванец со скрипкой с порванными струнами и попросил ровно пенни. Веселтчак купил скрипку и безуспешно старался починить струны. Над ним смеялись и он ушел из дома и нашел провинциб господи тоски, где все безрадостно работали и она пряла чернуб пряжу.
