Well, it really depends on country ecology, medicine and the quality of the people's lives. I can clearly say that if someone wants to spend their life on alcohol, drugs or cigarettes they would end up their life too fast, and even good ecology or quality medicine won't help them recover lost years
Finally, I would like to say that your life is the most important thing. Even if you think that there's no path to solve the situation, you should not worry about it, because every problem has its answer.. Except death
