Exercise 11.Put the verbs into the correct tense forms: Future or Present.

 

А. "The moment the sun (rise) we (get) up and (dress). While you (prepare) breakfast I (pack) the bags. We (set) off as soon as everyone (be) ready. We (not stop) until it (be) time for lunch. While we (have lunch) we (discuss) our plans for the day after tomorrow. When we (finish) eating, we (sleep) for an hour. We (hurry) during the afternoon, while it (be) still daylight, and if the weather (be) bad, we (put on) our raincoats. As soon as it (get) dark, we (make) camp. Before everybody (go) to sleep, we (have) another discussion".

B. Mother: I’m off to work now. What time will you be back?

Angie: About six. But I (ring) you if there (be) any problems.

Mother: Well, if you (be) back before me, you (have to) get something for dinner.

Angie: О. К. I (decide) on something when I (get) to the supermarket.

Mother: If I (pass) a greengrocer’s, I (buy) some strawberries.

Angie: Great!

Mother: Is Colin coming round tonight?

Angie: He didn’t say but if he (get in touch), I (invite) him to supper.

Mother: Look at the time. I (miss) the bus unless I (go) now.

Angie: О. K. Bye. I (see) you when I (get) home.​

Переведем эти предложения на русский язык и определим правильное время:

1. The moment the sun rises, we will get up and dress. - В настоящем времени (Present Simple) мы вставляем союз "когда" и используем глагол в будущем времени (Future Simple).
2. While you are preparing breakfast, I will pack the bags. - "While" обозначает длительное действие в настоящем времени (Present Continuous), а второе действие будет происходить в будущем времени (Future Simple).
3. We will set off as soon as everyone is ready. - Используется будущее время (Future Simple) для обозначения действия, которое произойдет после определенного условия (когда все будут готовы).
4. We will not stop until it is time for lunch. - Обозначается будущее время (Future Simple) для выражения непрерывного действия до определенного момента (времени обеда).
5. While we have lunch, we will discuss our plans for the day after tomorrow. - "While" в значении "пока" указывает на длительное действие в настоящем времени (Present Simple), а второе действие указывает на будущее время (Future Simple).
6. When we finish eating, we will sleep for an hour. - "When" (когда) указывает на будущее время, так как это будет происходить после определенного действия (когда мы закончим еду).
7. We will hurry during the afternoon, while it is still daylight, and if the weather is bad, we will put on our raincoats. - Мы используем будущее время для обозначения длительного действия в настоящем времени (Present Simple) и условного времени для обозначения возможного будущего действия (Future Simple).
8. As soon as it gets dark, we will make camp. - Будущее время используется для обозначения действия, которое произойдет сразу после определенного условия (когда стемнеет).
9. Before everybody goes to sleep, we will have another discussion. - Используется будущее время для обозначения действия, которое произойдет до определенного момента (перед сном).

B. Mother: I’m off to work now. What time will you be back?
Angie: About six. But I will ring you if there are any problems.
Mother: Well, if you are back before me, you will have to get something for dinner.
Angie: О. К. I will decide on something when I get to the supermarket.
Mother: If I pass a greengrocer’s, I will buy some strawberries.

1. What time will you be back? - Используется будущее время для обозначения действия, которое произойдет в определенное время в будущем.
2. I will ring you if there are any problems. - Условное будущее время указывает на возможное действие в будущем, если будет возникать какая-либо проблема.
3. If you are back before me, you will have to get something for dinner. - Используется условное время для обозначения возможного действия в будущем, если определенное условие выполнено (если ты вернешься раньше меня).
4. I will decide on something when I get to the supermarket. - Используется будущее время для обозначения действия, которое произойдет после достижения определенного места (супермаркета).
5. If I pass a greengrocer’s, I will buy some strawberries. - Используется условное время для обозначения возможного действия в будущем в зависимости от определенного условия (если я пройду мимо овощного магазина).
6. If he gets in touch, I will invite him to supper. - Будущее время используется для обозначения действия, которое произойдет после определенного условия (если он свяжется со мной).
7. I will miss the bus unless I go now. - Используется условное время для обозначения будущего действия, которое произойдет, если определенное условие не выполняется (если я не пойду сейчас).
8. I will see you when I get home. - Будущее время используется для обозначения действия, которое произойдет после достижения определенного места (дома).
