Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin is a Russian statesman and politician, acting President of the Russian Federation and Supreme Commander of the Russian Armed forces.

He was born on October 7, 1952, in Leningrad, Russia in an ordinary family of workers.  The family was not rich and lived in a communal apartment with other people. As Putin had got a law degree in 1975, he joined the KGB, the security force of the former Soviet Union. Then he worked in the KGB for 15 years, not only in Russia but also in Germany. In 1983, he got married Lyudmila Shkrebneva and they got two daughters, Ekaterina and Maria, by name. However, he is divorced today.

For the first time, he became a president of the Russian Federation in 2000, then he left the position and became a prime minister in 2008. Then, he had been re-elected a president again in 2012 and 2018.

He became Reserve Colonel (1999), State Councilor of the Russian Federation of the 1st class (1997), Candidate of Economic Sciences (1997), Master of sports in Sambo (1973) and judo (1975), champion of Leningrad in judo (1976), honored coach of Russia in Sambo (1998). He is fluent in German and English.
