My favourite video film is “titanic”. it tells the story of a famous ship, the “titanic”, which sank in 1912. the “titanic” was a colossal ship even by modern standards. its tragic sinking will always be remembered, for the ship went down on the first voyage with heavy losses. the director of the film is james cameron. the main parts in the film are played by young actors leonardo di caprio and kate winslet. to my mind their acting is superb. the camerawork is fantastic, too. i’ve heard that they made a full-size model of the “titanic” for this film. it’s a very spectacular film. it is also a moving love-story. i advise all my friends to see “titanic”. the film was awarded 11 oscars and i’m sure it deserves every one of them.

Learning a foreign language is not an easy thing. it is a long and slow process that takes a lot of time and efforts.i began studying english in the second form. i started with the abc, transcription and sounds. nowadays i learn new english words, conversational phrases, dialogues by heart. i read and translate different texts, do exercises, write dictations and essays.from lesson to lesson i improve my knowledge of english grammar. i try to have more practice in speaking. i enjoy my english classes and try to prepare carefully for them. at home i like watching english filmson tv and i sometimes read english adopted books. i hope that soon i’ll be able to communicate english better.english is not an easy language to learn.i learn english because i want to communicate with people from different countries. i dream of visiting england and the usa. in future i am going to learn one more language – german. my mother and father can speak german and i also want to visit germany and get acquainted with new people.i want to know english because i have always been interested in english-speaking countries, their cultures, traditions, customs and peoples. i want to learn english particularly not only because it is the language of such great countries as the usa and great britain, but also because it has become the international language, the language of progressive science and engineering. to know english today is absolutely necessary for every educated man, for every good specialist.
