Kiev - one of the oldest cities in Ukraine.The exact date of its foundation is unknown, but, according to the archaeologists, he appeared in the 6-7 century AD. According to ancient legend it was founded by three brothers - Kyi, Cheek and Horeb, and their sister Swan. Kiev was the cradle, a unique center, from which emerged a powerful state of Kievan Rus. In ancient times, here ruled by grand dukes, the act which still affect our lives. This Vladimir the Great baptized Rus, and Yaroslav the Wise, who united and strengthened the country, and Vladimir Monomakh, known for his wisdom and foresight.
