Используется:
1. Когда действие началось и закончилось в
2.Когда действие и не сможет больше повториться (город был основан...)
3. Слова-подсказки: ago, yesterday, last, и какой-то год.

I have played with my sister this evening.
Я играл с сестрой этим вечером.
Present Perfect (настоящее совершенное) - показывает, что действие началось в и ещё не закончилось/закончилось в момент речи/ имеет связь с настоящим.

Используется:
1. Когда действие началось в но неважно точное время. Я была в Италии много раз в последнее время.

2. Слова-подсказки: today, ever, never, just, already, yet, this, since, recently.
3. Действие произошло в и ещё не закончилось/ может повториться.

1. Cora (wants) to have a dog. She says "If I (had) a dog, I (would have) a friend". When she (came) from school in the afternoon, she (decided) to ask her mother to let her to have a dog.
2. He (did not sleep) that night. He (had been thinking) till the morn­ing: his head (was) full of thoughts. When the morn­ing (came) he (took) decision at last.
3. After we (had said) good-bye to the old man we (went) out of the house. There (was not) anybody in the street. The sun (was shining) brightly in the sky.
