Hello John,

             I was very pleased to have received your letter. I congratulate you on passing your last exams. And I have a question to ask, are you getting ready to celebrate the New Year's Eve?

             Well, here in Ukraine we have a lot of fun celebrating this marvellous holiday! My father has already bought a New Year tree and we are going to place it in the centre of the living room. My mom took some garlands out of the box and is going to hang them on the New Year tree. I found a glass star that we usually put at the top of the New Year tree every year. Besides that, this time we are going to attach more bells, candy canes and tinsel to the tree.

           My mom has also started buying some food products. We love tasting delicious meals on New Year's Eve. As a rule, I help my mom to cook some salads and sweet desserts. This time my parents are going to invite my uncle and aunt to celebrate too, so I think I will be sent to the grocery store more than once.

            Last night I saw that my father also brought home some new empty stockings. I do hope that all of them will be full of presents on New Year's Eve! I will probably open them on the 1st of January if my younger sister doesn't do it earlier... I anticipate a new computer, though and I am doubtful if there is enough place for it in any of the stockings...Well, in any case, I have Christmas as a reserved holiday, so getting a computer is just a matter of a few days!

         Okay, I think that's all. John, please tell me where and how you are going to celebrate this upcoming holiday in your next letter.
