The Russian Federation is the biggest country in the world. It occupies about one-seventh of the earth's surface. Russia is washed by 12 seas of 3 oceans: the Pacific, the Arctic and the Atlantic and  borders on China, Mongolia, Korea, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Norway, Finland, the Baltic States, Belarus, the Ukraine and the USA.
Russia is the country where a variety of scenery and vegetation can be found. There are steppes, plains and forests, tundra and taiga, highlands and deserts there. The Great Russian Plain and the West Siberian lowland, the main mountain chains such as the Urals, the Caucasus and the Altai are situated on its territory. The longest rivers are the Volga in Europe and the Ob, the Yenisey and the Lena in Asia. The largest lake is Ladoga and the deepest is Baikal.
On the vast territory of the country there are various types of climate from arctic to subtropical. The Russian Federation is rich in natural and mineral resources.
The current population of the country is more than 150 million people. Russia is a parliamentary republic. The Head of State is the President. All legislative power is vested in the Federal Assembly. The executive power belongs to the Cabinet of Ministers. The judicial bodes of the Russian Federation are the Supreme Court, the Constitutional Court and the Highest Court of Arbitrage.

economies of some nations by winter and summer tourism. Employment 
opportunities in the service sector increase substantially.  Many cities are also important centers for international conferences and exhibitions.
The number of tourists increases steadily. Luxury establishments are developed for wealthy foreigners. Tourism supports many 
small businesses that provide food, lodging, fuel, and other supplies and 
services.
