Reading Task. Read the text about Alex's hometown. My town Newquay Newquay is a small town on the Atlantic coast in the south of England. It has got great beaches and is the best place to surf in the United Kingdom. There are lots of surf schools where you can learn how to surf. I go surfing with my friends every weekend. I love Newquay because there are lots of other things to do as well as surfing. If you like water sports, you can go kayaking, water-skiing or coasteering. Coasteering involves rock climbing, jumping into the sea, and swimming in the same activity. So, you should always go with a special instructor. If you like animals you can also visit the Blue Reef Aquarium and see lots of different fish and even sharks. You can also go horse riding on the beach or visit Newquay Zoo. We all love to dream. In our childhood we had a lot of dreams and goals. They have changed much since then and have become more complicated and serious because our priorities have changed too. Now we realize that to make our dreams come true we have to be smart and successful and to work hard as well. My father always taught me to explore the world with inquisitive eyes and a curious mind, constantly seeking to learn more and more, to understand more. That’s why my ultimate dream is to travel around the world, learn foreign languages and hopefully move to a sunny and warm place some day. I’d like to explore new cultures, traditions, business and cuisine. Travelling can be an invaluable experience for me, it can broaden my knowledge and help me to make friends with people from other countries. I think that my dreams are not just dreams, they are quite real if I don’t give up and move towards their fulfillment. Our dreams are in our hands, I’m sure. I have another cherished dream which is more global, of course. I want to stop poverty on our Earth, to provide poor people with shelter and food, with proper education, clothes and water. I know that it’s not so easy. I want to support children and old people with essential things for life and health and I hope to stop their tears one day. Все мы любим мечтать. Я бы хотела изучать новые культуры, традиции, бизнес и кухню. Путешествия могут быть для меня неоценимым опытом, они могут расширить мои познания и завести друзей в других странах. Думаю, что мои мечты – это не просто мечты, что они вполне реальны, если я не сдамся и буду двигаться к их свершению. Я уверена, что наши мечты в наших руках. У меня есть еще одна заветная мечта, которая, конечно же, более глобальна. Я хочу остановить бедность на нашей Земле, предоставить бедным людям кров и еду, приличное образование, одежду и воду. Знаю, что это нелегко. Я хочу обеспечить детей и стариков необходимыми вещами для жизни и здоровья, и я надеюсь однажды положить конец их слезам.
