Andrew: Hallo! I haven`t seen you for a long time, Albert. Albert: Hallo! I have just come back from Marlow. Marlow is a small town in south Buckinghamshire. Marlow is situated on the River Thames. I was there on holiday. Have you ever been there? Andrew: Yes, three years ago I spent my holiday there too. I know this lovely place very well. Did you have lunch at the famous old hotel near the River Thames? Albert: Yes, I did. Then I met a friend of mine there and on some days we had lunch in the open air near the River Thames. Andrew: And how did you enjoy your holiday, Albert? What have you done there? Albert: I had a really good time, Andrew. I enjoyed wonderful nature and nice weather. And what about you? What have you done this summer? Andrew: I stayed at home. I have bought a new car and it was a pleasure to go to different places which were situated in different regions of England but not far from London. Every day I came back home. Albert: I see. Well, you had a very interesting holiday.

I like to learn, and my favorite subject is History. It is one of the most interesting subjects at school.

At the lessons we learn about people’s life in the past. Now we are studying Ancient History. Almost every lesson is like time travel. We learn about how the human society was formed, how the first states appeared. We are told about the culture of ancient countries, about historical monuments that have survived to this day.

Our teacher often shows us reproductions of paintings and scenes from films so that we can better imagine this or that period. She also tells us what books we can read additionally. Sometimes we answer quiz questions on a topic.

Most of all I like to prepare history projects. I enjoy looking for additional materials, choosing interesting facts and pictures. All this helps to understand and memorize important information. Maybe I'll become a historian or an archaeologist when I grow up .

На уроках истории мы узнаем о том, как жили люди в Сейчас мы учим историю Древнего мира. Почти каждый урок – словно путешествие во времени. Мы узнаем о том, как формировалось человеческое общество, как появились первые государства. Нам рассказывают про культуру древних стран, про памятники истории, дошедшие до наших дней.

Наша учительница часто показывает нам репродукции картин и отрывки из фильмов, чтобы мы могли лучше представлять ту или иную эпоху. Кроме того, она рассказывает, какие книги мы можем прочитать дополнительно. Иногда мы отвечаем на вопросы викторины по какой-либо теме.

Больше всего я люблю готовить проекты по истории. Я с удовольствием ищу дополнительные материалы, выбираю интересные факты и картинки. Всё это понять и запомнить важную информацию. Может быть, я стану историком или археологом, когда вырасту.
