Task 4. Read the letter and choose the correct adjectives. Hi Nelly,
Thanks for your email. It was great to hear from you. Guess what! I went to a concert last weekend and it was 1) amazing/amazed! It was in London. I went with my brother, Rustam. We both think Ed Sheeran has really 2) interested/ interesting songs, so we were really 3) exciting/excited to see him perform live. We arrived on time, but we had to wait patiently while the support group played. They were a bit 4) bored/boring and we couldn’t wait to see Ed Sheeran. It was well worth the wait, though! He played a mixture of old and new songs and gave a brilliant performance. The crowd was really 5) amused/amusing and everyone was singing along to all the songs. It was an electric atmosphere! After the concert, Rustam and I both bought T-shirts to remember the event. It was a wonderful evening – the music was lively and Ed Sheeran was great. We were 6) exhausted/ exhausting, but we had a great time. Don’t miss the chance to see him if he’s performing a concert near you! Write back,
Nazira

Seventeen years ago Tom Clancy was an obscure Maryland insurance broker with a passion for naval history and only a letter to the editor and a brief article on the MX missile to his credit. Years before he had been an English major at Baltimores Loyola College and had always dreamed of writing a novel. His first effort, The Hunt for Red Octoberthe story of a Russian submarine captain who defects to the United Statessold briskly as a result of rave reviews, then catapulted onto the New York Times bestseller list after President Reagan pronounced it the perfect yarn and non-put-downable. Since then Clancy has established himself as an undisputed master at blending exceptional realism and authenticity, intricate plotting, and razor-sharp suspense.
