The Best Holiday Destination in Russia
For me and my family the best holiday destination in Russia is Anapa, a town on the Black Sea coast.
Anapa is several thousand years old. There are a lot of historical and architectural monuments and museums there. The most important tourist attractions are the Saint Onufry temple, the oldest temple of the Kuban, and the museum of local history. Nowadays there are a lot of hotels and sanatoriums there, as well as health camps for children that were built in Soviet times. In the center of the town only a few streets are open to traffic — many are pedestrian zones. Anapa is a typical resort town with a lot of cafes, restaurants and canteens. There are also popular grocery supermarkets with a wide range of goods and affordable prices.
Anapa is known for its beautiful sandy beaches, but my favourite one is a pebble beach - Bolshoy Utrish, where there is the most beautiful bottom and the cleanest water. It’s a great place for diving. I only wish there were fewer people there.
We have been to Anapa twice and I think we might come again to this beautiful place of the warm and sunny Russian South.
