Some people consider nuclear families as traditional ones; at the same time, in some cultures, extended families are
more common. Generally, extended families are families where parents live with their adult children and
grandchildren. Grandparents may help to look after their grandchildren when the parents are at work. Typically, in
these families, people respect and care about their elderly members. But, living together with so many family
members is not so simple, though.
The lack of privacy and financial issues if old parents or children do not have income may take place in these
families.
If parents are concentrated on their children too much, they may become selfish in the future.​
