Сейчас апельсин активно культивируется практически во всех тропических и субтропических регионах земного шара.
Впрочем, сам апельсин больше всего любит субтропический климат. Именно в субтропиках апельсиновые деревья дают плоды самого высокого качества. Чтобы получить плоды с такими же свойствами в тропической зоне, деревья апельсина должны произрастать не ниже, чем на высоте 800-1200 метров над уровнем море. На тропических равнинах с высоким уровнем влажности воздуха плоды апельсина оставляют желать лучшего.
Orange, or Citrus sinensis, is an evergreen fruit tree plant belonging to the genus citrus of the family Rutaceae. So far biologists have not been able to find any species of wild orange.
Homeland orange is South-East Asia. European travelers brought the orange to Europe in the XV century. Some time later, orange trees, together with the colonists appeared on the African and American continents. Now the orange are cultivated in almost all tropical and subtropical regions of the globe.
However, the orange loves the subtropical climate. In the subtropics orange trees produce fruit of the highest quality. To get the fruit with the same properties in the tropical zone, the orange trees must be grown not less than on the height of 800-1200 meters above the sea level. On the tropical plains with high humidity, the fruit left much to be desired.
