Colleges and universities have generally been quick to adopt new technologies, often even before their educational value has been proven. Throughout its history, higher education has experimented with technological advances as diverse as the blackboard and the personal computer. Some technologies have become permanent parts of the higher education enterprise. Others, such as the slide rule and the 16-millimeter movie projector, have been replaced as more sophisticated or more cost-effective technologies have emerged to take their place.
At the dawn of the twenty-first century, new and rapidly improving technologies are in the process of transforming higher education. Each year since 1994, the Campus Computing Survey has shown increased use in college classrooms of technology-dependent resources such as e-mail, the Internet, course web pages, and computer simulations. Technology has the potential to revolutionize the traditional teaching and learning process. It can eliminate the barriers to education imposed by space and time and dramatically expand access to lifelong learning. Students no longer have to meet in the same place at the same time to learn together from an instructor. Fundamentally, modern technologies have the ability to change the conception of a higher education institution. No longer is a higher education institution necessarily a physical place with classrooms and residence halls where students come to pursue an advanced education.
Computers and telecommunications are the principal technologies reshaping higher education. Due to advances in each of these domains, electronic mail, fax machines, the World Wide Web, CDROMs, and commercially developed simulations and courseware are altering the daily operations and expanding the missions of colleges and universities

Without doubt there are some advantages and disadvantages of living in the city.
Main advantages are:
1. More job opportunities
2. Better education
3. Good infrastructure that includes bunch of various restaurants, cafes and other entertainment facilities.
The list of disadvantages includes:

Human healthThere is a saying, wealth is nothing without health. And it is true because only healthy people can fully enjoy their life. Healthy lifestyle becomes more and more popular nowadays.
My healthy lifestyle

There are 3 main things in my healthy lifestyle: healthy eating, physical exercise and leisure activities. All together these components help me keep my body and mind in good condition.

Healthy eating

Formation of right eating habits is one of the ways to having good health. There are enough fruits, vegetables, meat and fiber in my diet. I avoid overeating and drink plenty of water.

Physical exercise

Our body needs physical exercise. However, that does not imply spending 3 hours in a gym every day. We all are different. Some gruel themselves with heavy muscle-strengthening exercises, for others a short walk is enough. I like swimming and yoga. I also enjoy long walks in the fresh air.

Leisure

While keeping our body healthy, we should not forget about our mind. Having a hobby or involving oneself in different leisure activities helps restore our mental health.

There are different types of leisure activities, from reading books and knitting to hiking and travelling. I recently discovered that I enjoy growing indoor plants and am very attracted by handmade works.

Мой здоровый образ жизни состоит из трех главных составляющих: здоровое питание, физические нагрузки и отдых. Все вместе они мне поддерживать тело и дух в хорошем состоянии.

Питание

Формирование правильных привычек в еде – один из путей к крепкому здоровью. В моем рационе содержится достаточное количество фруктов, овощей, мяса и клетчатки. Я избегаю переедания и пью много воды.

Физические нагрузки

Нашему телу необходимы физические нагрузки. Однако это не подразумевает 3-часовые ежедневные тренировки в спортзале. Мы все разные. Кто-то изнуряет себя тяжелыми силовыми упражнениями, в то время как для других достаточно короткой прогулки. Я люблю плавание и йогу. Я также люблю подолгу гулять на свежем воздухе.

Отдых

Заботясь о своем теле, мы не должны забывать и об умственном отдыхе. Хобби или активный отдых нам восстанавливать психическое здоровье.

Существует много разных видов деятельности, начиная от чтения книг и вязания и заканчивая пешими походами и путешествиями. Совсем недавно я обнаружила, что люблю разводить домашние растения и интересуюсь ручными поделками.
