There could be one hundred billion Earth-like planets in our galaxy, a United States conference has heard. Dr. Alan Boss of the Carnegie Institution of Science said many of these worlds could be inhabited by simple life forms. He was speaking at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in Chicago. So far, telescopes have been able to detect just over 300 planets outside our Solar System. Very few of these would be capable of supporting life, however. Most are gas giants like our Jupiter, and many orbit so close to their parent stars that any microbes would have to survive roasting temperatux-es. But, based on the limited numbers of planets found so far, Dr. Boss has estimated that each Sun-like star has on average one "Earth-like" planet. This simple calculation means there would be huge numbers capable of supporting life.
"Not only are they probably habitable but they probably are also going to be inhabited," Dr. Boss told BBC News. "But I think that most likely the nearby 'Earths' are going to be inhabited with things which are perhaps more common to what Earth was like three or four billion years ago," That means bacterial life forms. Dr. Boss estimates that NASA's Kepler mission, due for launch in March, should begin finding some of these Earth-like planets within the next few years.
Recent work at Edinburgh University tried to quantify how many intelligent civilizations might be out there. The research suggested there could be thousands of them.

According to the text, each Sun-like star in the galaxy has about one "Earth-like" planet.
Very few Earth-like planets are capable of sustaining life.
Most gas-giants orbit so close to their parent stars the heat from the stars makes life on gas-giants impossible.

With these thoughts you go to bed and Wake up with them too. Teacher's day... Is how much? This round the clock, it's a whole life from start to finish. And the window again summer again Shine on the grass drops of dew, clear as a tear, pure as the soul of the child. It is very important that the teacher was a good man, willing and able to preserve the originality of the child's soul, to protect her from evil and hatred, "sow love and good deeds.

In 1977 the organizing committee of the Olympic Games announced competition on the best image of a bear. As a result of jury chose the sketch of Victor Chizhikov [1] on which the smiling bear cub surrounded blue black yellow green red (color of the Olympic rings) by a belt with a buckle in the form of these rings of golden color was represented. The bear was approved as an official mascot on December 19, 1977.
Made the Olympic giant in scientific research institute of Rubber industry in the city of Sergiev Posad.
As the author of the Olympic bear the artist of the children's book Victor Chizhikov remembers, to it called and told: "We congratulate! Your bear passed the Central Committee! ". During the Olympic Games-80 closing ceremony the huge rubber doll of a symbol of the Olympic Games by balloons under Pakhmutova and Dobronravov's song performed by Leshchenko and Antsiferova slowly departured in the Moscow sky. The show was so touching, as the audience, and participants of the Olympic Games couldn't keep from tears.
In the fall of 1980 one West German firm addressed to the Soviet government with the offer to buy rubber Mischa for 100 thousand deutschmarks. To firm it was refused.
