Например: - How many oranges are there?

                   - There are 6 oranges.

How much используется с неисчислимыми существительными, т.е. с теми предметами/продуктами, которые нельзя посчитать. Сюда относятся: meat (мясо), milk (молоко), juice (сок), money (деньги), bread (хлеб) и т.д.

Например: - How much meat are you going to buy?

                   - I'm going to buy 5 kilos of meat.

То есть неисчисляемые предметы мы можем посчитать только килограммами (мясо), стаканами (сок), банками (мёд, варенье), булками (хлеб), валютой (деньги) и т.д.

Мы не можем сказать 5 meats или 5 milks!

Мы скажем 5 kilos of meat и 5 packages of milk.
