Mike talks about his day.



This morning I got up really early. I went for a jog in the park. I really don't like jogging, but our health is important and I try to jog at least three or four times every week.

After jogging, I went home, I took a shower, and I had a cup of hot coffee. Then, I cleaned my apartment. Not fun either, but I work really hard during the week. It gets very messy, so it took me about two hours to clean it.

In the afternoon, I met my friend for lunch. We went to a fast-food restaurant. I never eat breakfast, so I was really hungry. We each ate double cheeseburgers and fries. I know junk food is not that great, but I love it.

In the afternoon, we went shopping. I bought some shirts and a pair of shoes for work. I don't like to spend money on work clothes, but luckily everything was on sale.

Later that evening, I saw a movie. We saw the new Batman movie. I generally don't like Superheroes movies, but this one was great. The special effects were amazing, and the story was much more interesting than the others.

After the movie, I said goodbye to my girlfriend, went home, relaxed and read a book. It was a long day.

Task 1. Read the text and mark the sentences True or False

Madagascar

Madagascar has two seasons, a warm, wet season from November to April, and a cooler dry season between May and October. However, different parts of the country have very different weather.

The east coast is hotter and wetter, with up to 4000mm of rainfall per year. In the rainy season, there are strong winds, and these can cause a lot of damage. Avoid visiting eastern Madagascar between January and March because the weather can make road travel very difficult. The dry season is cooler and more pleasant.

The high, central part of the country is much drier and cooler. About 1,400 mm of rain falls in the rainy season, with some thunderstorms, but the summer is usually sunny and dry, but it can be cold, especially in the mornings, with freezing showers, and it may snow in mountain areas above 2,400m, and even stay there for several days.

The west coast is the driest part of the island. Here, the winter months are pleasant with little rain, cooler temperatures and blue skies. The summers can be extremely hot, especially in the southwest. This part of the country is semi-desert, and only gets around 300mm of rain per year.

I hope you are well.I miss you a lot.I'm having a wonderful time in America.My American family is very king.Yesterday we celebrated Independence Day and we had a fantastic time.It was a holiday and we went to a rodeo.It was really exciting.We saw cowboys on horses and bulls.In the aftetnoon we watched TV.There was s programme about the origin of Independence Day.On July 4,1776 the therteen colonies on the Atlantic coats hot their independence from Great Btitain and America was born!It was very emotional.On TV they played the National Anthem and we sang it too!

I throught the celebrations were ober,but at about 9.00pm we went to the square and saw a concert and s lot of fireworks!
