The human body consists of three principal parts. There are the head; the trunk and the limbs (extremities).There are the upper limbs and the lower limbs.
The main part of the head is called the skull. The bones of the skull are composed of cranial and facial parts. The skull encloses the brain. There are the forehead, the cheeks, the eyes, a nose, the lips, a mouth and a chin on your face.
The head is connected with the trunk by neck. Our trunk consists of the chest (the upper part) and the lower part is the abdomen. The principal organs in the chest are the lungs, the heart, and the gullet (esophagus). We breathe with the lungs. The heart contracts and makes about 60 – 80 beats per minute. The principal organs in the abdominal cavity are the stomach, the liver, the spleen, the intestines, the kidneys, the gall – bladder and the urinary bladder.
The upper limbs have arms, hands and fingers. We have five fingers on each hand. The lower limbs have legs, feet and toes. There are five toes on each foot.. You can see with the eyes, breath with the nose and hear with the ears. We chew food with the teeth and tasty food with the tongue.
The human body is covered with the skin.
