You know, darling, I have fired Amelia Bedelia. Would you like to know why? Just imagine, this morning I entered the kitchen to ask her to prepare some breakfast for me. She was busy cooking something, and it smelled very good indeed. Well, I told her I would like cereal with coffee, and she said, «All right», so I left the kitchen and went to the dining room. After a while Amelia Bedelia came in and brought my breakfast. Guess what it was like? There was cereal and coffee in one cup! I decided it was impossible and told her to leave our house.
(Знаешь, дорогой, я сегодня уволила Амелию Беделию. Хочешь узнать почему? Только представь себе, сегодня утром я вошла в кухню попросить ее приготовить мне завтрак. Она была занята приготовлением чего-то, и это очень вкусно пахло. Ну я сказала ей, что хотела бы хлопьев с кофе, и она сказала «Хорошо», так что я вышла из кухни и пошла в гостиную. Через некоторое время вошла Амелия Беделия и принесла мне завтрак. Отгадай, что это было? Там были хлопья и кофе в одной чашке! Я решила, что она невыносима, и приказала ей покинуть наш дом)
6. Представьте, что Амелия Беделия могла написать в письме своим родителям о ее работе в доме миссис Роджерс. Запишите письмо Амелии Беделии.
Dear Mum and Dad,
How are you? I’m OK, though Mr's Rogers has just fired me. To tell the truth, I didn’t quite understand why she did it. I just did what she had told me to do. Well, she asked me to prepare a breakfast for her. To be exact, she said, «I will have some cereal with my coffee this morning». So I put cereal in a cup and poured some coffee into it. But when I brought it to her, she got very angry, said that I was impossible and fired me.
But, please, don’t worry, Г going to find another job. I can do a lot of things and I think everything will be OK.

Дорогие мама и папа!
Как у вас дела? У меня все хорошо, хотя миссис Роджерс меня уволила. По правде говоря, я не совсем поняла, почему она это сделала. Я всего лишь сделала то, что она мне приказала. В общем, она сказала мне сделать ей завтрак. Если быть точной, она сказала: «Сегодня я буду хлопья с кофе». Ну я и положила хлопья в чашку и налила туда немного кофе. Но когда и принесла это ей, она очень разозлилась, сказала, что я невыносима, и уволила меня.
Но не волнуйтесь. Я собираюсь найти другую работу. Я многое умею делать и думаю, что все будет в порядке.
