Listening
Task 2. Four people talk about where they like to eat. Listen to the recording and fill the gaps.
Discuss with your peers what strategies you will use to complete these task successfully.
1. Speaker 1: Its called The Knife and Talk and its very the city center.
2. Speaker 1: Their pancakes are with bits of apple and banana.
3. Speaker 2: A bit but worth every penny.
4. Speaker 2: So I can eat very and have a chat at the same time.
5. Speaker 3: But the food is great, very traditional recipes and cheap too.
6. Speaker 3: I always have pancakes in the morning and their fish pie for lunch is .
7. Speaker 4: They sell pizza, but it isnt like normal pizza.
8. Speaker 4: There was a pizzeria there before.

My first visit to London was one and a half years ago. It was a wonderful trip. I stayed in the city for three weeks, and I had many impressions. I visited all the famous places.

I'd like to tell you about some of the places I visited in this beautiful city.

When I dreamed of seeing London in the past, I always wanted to see the Tower Bridge and the famous Big Ben clock. I visited these places, and I went on a tourist boat on the River Thames and saw two coasts.

First, I went to the Tower of London, and I want to say that it is a very interesting historical place. I found out that a long time ago, it was a prison.
Later it became a castle for the royal family. Or maybe it is the reverse; I'm not sure, but later they left this place and lived in Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace.

Once a week, usually on Sunday mornings, she ( goes) swimming. A few friends usually ( go) along, too. One of her friends has got a car, so he ( picks) them up and then he ( drives) them home. After swimming they often ( go) out for a pizza. On Saturday evenings she sometimes ( goes) out with friends to a party or maybe to a concert. Sometimes she ( invites) friends to her house and they ( listen) to music and ( talk). Mr. and Mrs. Connor often ( take) them for a camping weekend to the seaside or to the mountains. From time to time she ( calls) her family in Switzerland. They never ( talk) for very long because it (is ) expensive. She usually ( calls) on Sundays because it ( is) cheaper then. 2.
