In today's world more and more teens tend to work while going to school. A) Nevertheless, this is not as easy as it seems to be. Despite the advantages there are several disadvantages of working part-time while trying to complete an education.
There is no doubt that part-time work can be beneficial. B) To begin with, part-time jobs can be great as teens have more financial independence. C) For example, they can buy their own clothes, electronic equipment and entertainment without having to ask their parents for money. D) What is more, it helps their self confidence and gives them terrific work experience.
E) On the other hand, there are drawbacks to working while trying to finish secondary school. F) One drawback is that work, study and play can be too much for some teens to handle. All the stress and tiredness may affect their health. G) Also, their grades might suffer because they have little time to study. Teens must also bear in mind that they are young and need time to hang out with friends.
H) All in all, studying while working part-time is probably one of the hardest things a teenager will ever do. But, in my opinion, an after-school job can be beneficial as long as the teenager does not work too many hours and learns to balance their free time and study time well.

Education after 16 is voluntary in the United Kingdom.

Many of  the colleges of Oxford and Cambridge universities were founded in the 12th and 13th centuries. All other universities in Britain were founded in 19th and 20th centuries.

Nowadays there are more than forty universities in Britain, of which 36 are in England, 8 in Scotland, 2 in Northern Ireland and 1 in Wales.

British Universities are private institutions. Every university is independent, autonomous and responsible only to its own governing council.

The number and type of faculties differ from university to university. Each university decides each year how many students it supposes to admit. The admission to universities is by examination or selection (interviews). The students receive grant. The have to pay fees and living costs but every student may receive from the local authority of the place where he lives personal grant which is enough to pay lodging and food – unless his parents are rich.

Students who pass examinations at the end of three or four years of study get Bachelor’s degree. The first postgraduate degree is normally that of Master conferred for a thesis based at least one year’s fulltime work. Universities are centres of   research and many postgraduates are engaged in research for higher degree, usually Doctorates.

More and more people suffer from air and water pollution. Nature also suffers from land and nuclear pollution. The reasons for such environmental problems are numerous. Among them increasing number of cars in the streets, factory waste, millions of cut down trees, destroyed habitats of animals, contaminated rivers and seas. All these problems mainly arise due to human careless activities and gradually destroy our planet. If we look closely, we’ll notice that not only one city is under danger, but the majority of world population. Fortunately, there are many ways to suspend these problems. If everybody starts caring about the planet we live on, many environmental problems can be solved. For example, if we start recycling paper and cardboard, we can save lots of trees. If we start using public transport more than private cars, we can have less air pollution. Local governments can also help to prevent some problems, if they forbid logging companies to destroy the forests, or stop factories from polluting water. The most important thing is, of course, to start acting immediately, otherwise we might have to face many global disasters.Проблемы окружающей среды стали одной из самых насущных проблем современного общества. Всё больше людей страдает от загрязнений воды и воздуха. Природа также страдает от загрязнения земли и от радиоактивности. Причин для таких проблем окружающей среды множество. Среди них, повышение количества автомобилей на дорогах, отходы заводов, миллионы срубленных деревьев, разрушение естественной среды обитания животных, загрязненные реки и моря. Если присмотреться, то можно заметить, что не только один город в опасности, но и большая часть населения мира. К счастью, есть много возможностей приостановить эти проблемы. Если все начнут заботиться о планете, на которой живут, многие экологические проблемы могут быть решены. Например, если мы начнём утилизировать бумагу и картон, мы многие деревья. Если мы начнём использовать больше общественный транспорт, чем личные автомобили, у нас будет менее загрязнён воздух. Местное правительство может также приостановить некоторые проблемы, если запретит лесозаготовительным предприятиям разрушать леса, или остановит заводы от загрязнения воды. Самое важное, конечно же, начать действовать сейчас, или нам придётся столкнуться со многими глобальными катастрофами.
