Protecting the environment is one of the most important tasks for people. Environmental problems must be resolved immediately, otherwise it will be too late. We risk making our planet unsuitable for life.
In my opinion, the most serious environmental problem now is air pollution. Technological advance has led to the emergence of a huge number of factories, vehicles, and power plants that pollute the air. People carelessly continue cutting down forests. All this leads to the global warming and, as a result, to the extinction of various species of plants and animals. It also harms people's health.
It is necessary to reduce harmful emissions, introduce strict fines for violators of the law, we all must save water and electricity. My classmates and I can do this too. For example, we can walk or ride our bicycles more often, rather than take a bus or go somewhere by car. We can plant trees, save water, collect used plastic items and waste paper for recycling.
