Russia borders on many countries such as Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania in the North, China, Mongolia, North Korea in the South-East, Poland, Belarus, Ukraine in the West, and others.
There are forests and deserts, high mountains and deep valleys in our country. Elbrus is the highest point (5,633 m) in Russia and Europe.
There are many great and small rivers and deep lakes of the country. The major rivers are the Volga, the Don, the Kama, the Oka, the Northern Dvina, but there are several other rivers that originate in Russia, but they are flowing in other countries, such as the Dnieper and the Western Dvina. In Asia, the major rivers are the Ob, the Yrtysh, the Yenisei, the Angara, the Lena, the Amur, the Kolyma and others. The largest lakes is the Baikal, the Ladoga and the Onega.
The Baikal is the deepest freshwater lake in the world, and its water is the purest in the Earth.
The climate of Russia is very diverse, from arctic to subtropical.The Russian Federation is very rich in natural and mineral resources. It has deposits of oil, gas, iron, gold, non-ferrous metals and many other minerals.
