Measles is said to be a very infectious disease. The disease is passed from one child to another. The first symptoms are seen: sneezing and coughing. The disease is seen to begin with signs of a heavy cold, running nose and a dry cough. The temperature is characterised by high values and the child is diagnosed with a dislike of light. The rash is seen to appear on the third or fourth day behind the ears and around the mouth and then covers the body. Care should be taken by the nurse to prevent the spread of infection. Care should be taken by the nurse regarding the hygiene of the mouth. The patient’s mouth and lips must be cleaned and moistened.
