Speaking about the sights of Kiev, I want to say about Khreshchatyk, the main street of Kiev. If you have never been to Kiev, you should start sightseeing from here. The street is only one kilometer long, but very impressive. Kiev is known for the Kievo-Pecherskaya Lavra. More than eighty buildings were built on its territory during the nine hundred years of the monastery's existence. Tourists always come to look at the monument to Bogdan Khmelnytsky, a famous Ukrainian figure and military leader. There are many other attractions in Kiev. One of them is the State historical Museum of Ukraine. It has more than fifty thousand exhibits. It is worth visiting the Golden gate, St. Andrew's Church, monuments to Vladimir and Taras Shevchenko. Kiev theatre of Opera and ballet, Kiev drama theatre is well known throughout the country. Any attraction is interesting in its own way, and visiting them, we learn more and love our country.
