How could you differentiate between pre-victorian's presents and nowadays gifts?

Dear Ben,
I’m very happy too! I’m going to go on holiday in June. I’m going to London. It's one of my favourite cities. We are going there with my classmates and our teacher. We are going to see a lot of interesting places in London. First of all we will see Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, the Thames and the Tower of London.  Just imagine it!  Then we are going to see  Westminster Abbey, Trafalgar Square with Nelson's Column and the British Museum. My dream will come true soon, because  we are going to take a ride on the London Eye and to watch  the Changing of the Guard near Buckingham Palace. Unfortunately, we are not going to visit St Paul's Cathedral and Hide ParkI hope I'll learn a lot of useful information and take a lot of interesting photos. I'll send you some of them.

The landscape is lake. It is an oil painting and it has a very interesting texture, but the surface of the painting is almost perfectly smooth.

In the foreground, we see a pond. There are some reeds and water lilies on the pond, but the water is still clear, so we can see trees and clouds on the pond’s surface. In the middle of the picture, we see lights. The artist very carefully and accurately painted the landscape, it seems that we are standing on the edge of the pond.

In the background, between the trees we see a blue sky with white clouds in it. This picture describes one of those places where people are usually happy.
