My family lives in the city, but we have a "dacha" in the country, in quite a picturesque area. Not far from it there is a forest and a small river. We go to our dacha by car. It usually takes us about thirty minutes to get there. We spend weekends there during spring and autumn, and in the summer we sometimes stay there for weeks.
Our dacha is a plot of land with a small one-story house. Near the house there is a garage and a bath-house. The rest of the plot is occupied by a garden with apple, pear, plum and cherry trees, as well as a vegetable garden. We grow cucumbers, tomatoes, courgettes, carrots, cabbage and greens.
We don't keep any animals at the dacha, but our neighbors' cats always come to our plot. Sometimes hares and other animals from the forest visit our garden too.
