FIRE EXTINGUSHER
The body _of_ the extinguisher consists _of_ a high – pressure steel bottle, tested _for_ pressure _of_ 225 kg/sq. sm. _In_ its top the bottle is provided _with_ a valve _with_ a ring. _Up_ the bottle there is a siphon pipe. _From_ the valve _to_ the outlet a rubber hose leads, ending _in_ a nozzle and a tapering outlet tube. A handle _for_ holding the extinguisher and a safety-device built _into_ the valve make _up_ the whole extinguisher. Smaller extinguishers are provided _with_ a hanger, the larger ones have a flange (base) pressed _into_ the bottom part _for_ placing the extinguisher _on_ the ground. The automobile-type extinguishers have _instead of_ the hose, a stiff metal tube _with_ a nozzle _in_ an outlet tube fixed _to_ the valve body _by_ means _of_ a joint. The capacity _of_ the extinguishers is _from_ 1.5 kg (automobile-type extinguishers) _to_ 6 kg _of_ liquid carbon dioxide. If the extinguisher contains _inside_ more than 80 % _of_ its charge, it can be used further _after_ sealing. If more than 20 % _of_ the initial filling have been discharged, the extinguisher must be filled _in_.
